If a client or company is willing to invest in a great team member, I think it's only fair that the new member be worth the price.
If you do more, should demand a higher payment. If they aren't willing to pay, you need to find another way to get what you think you deserve.
And privileges are always welcome. The world revolves around contacts, recommendations and trust. I lived cases where I did more and I had a lower salary for being a distant contact. But those cases were left behind.
